Both Mike and Melanie also enjoy buying and renovating houses for resale and have completed a number of successful projects in the Sacramento area and in Mendocino, California.
Travel is a favorite activity for the Vances! Recent trips have included Japan, Spain, Thailand and Cambodia. U.S. trips have been varied and fairly frequent and both of us look forward to more.
Our daughter, Sarah, has been living in Japan for the last three years and is looking forward to living and working in the U.S.--and her parents are looking forward to that, too!
We have lived in Folsom (yes, Folsom Prison is our neighbor...) for the past 20+ years and enjoy our home and neighborhood immensely. Our house is comfortable and unpretentious. "To-do" lists always are much longer than the "finished" lists for both Mike and Melanie!
The Mendocino Coast of Northern California is one of our favorite places in the world. For several years, we have had a getaway cottage in the redwood forests two miles inland from Little River, California. We hope to make our house in the woods our permanent home in the future, but it serves our vacation needs right now.
